Tyler Duvall - Outside Reading #3 - The Book of Acts and Proverbs

Increasing the Word of God

3 components are necessary to increase the Word of God in our world.

1. Serving hearts (Acts 6:1-7)

2. Glory given to God (Acts 12:20-24)

3. Fear of God (Acts 19:11-20) – Hatred of evil (Proverbs 8:13), turning away from evil (Proverbs 16:6). Evil defined as pride, arrogance, and perverted speech (Proverbs 8:13). Evil is also haughty eyes, lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers (Proverbs 6:17-19). Fear of God prolongs life (Proverbs 10:27)

Proverbs 16:6 is a partnership with God. We are to turn from evil because our iniquities were atoned for.

Many miracles, signs and wonders, and beautiful displays of God’s mighty hand were displayed when these components were in play.

When we are hungry for God these components feel less “forced” and more “natural” as the longing for God grows
