A recent article on films in 2014 that
will appeal highly to Christians provides great insight into the movie
industry. The author states five films that are making their debut in 2014 that
will have a huge impact on the Christian community, as well as potentially make
this year “the year of the Bible”. The five films are Son of God, Noah, Heaven is For Real, Exodus, and Mary, Mother of Christ. There is another
film that recently came out, which the author failed to mention. This film is
called God’s Not Dead. Although the
author provides great insight into these films, he does not mention the full
implications of some of these films. Films such as Noah and Exodus will most likely have high
controversy, as they do not stick strictly to Biblical principles. Heaven is For Real will also have high
rates of controversy given the debatable premises. While I am sure they will all
be interesting films, the author of this article should not be too hasty in
saying that these films will make 2014 “the year of the Bible”. While it may
become more incorporated in our society, not all of the films give an accurate
depiction of the Biblical accounts. Therefore, the author should be careful in
regards to making this claim.
