Wim Wenders' "Paris, Texas" is of a man named
Travis who lost his wife and son and thus wanders for years. The style of this movie is simple with no
gimmicks used to elevate emotions simply because it doesn’t need them. I really enjoyed how the film conveyed real
emotion by which Travis and the boy become reconciled. Additionally, the screenshots are spectacular
and dynamic. At the beginning of the
movie, the camera is focused on the face of Travis, which takes up half of the
shot while the other half reveals a massive clay mountain in the
background. This contrast was beautiful
and caused me to ponder the inner turmoil of Travis.
