Corinne Beale- Noah Reviews (Outside Reading)

The newly released film, Noah is a movie that was made to depict the Biblical account Noah’s Ark found in Genesis. Many Christians are in an uproar because the movie doesn’t stick to the Biblical account; rather, there are many added scenes and factors that are not found in the original story told in the Bible. A review found online addresses the uproar from Bible-believing Christians, as well as the director’s remarks regarding the film. The director of the film, Darren Aronofsky, is a self-proclaimed atheist and is proud of this aspect of his life. Before the movie was even released, he made a claim that the film was not Biblically sound. In fact, he said that it was as unbiblical as possible without completely changing the story line. This is something that Christians should have made themselves aware of prior to viewing the film. Knowing this before seeing the film really allowed me to have an open mind regarding the movie. Although there were many portions of the movie that did not align with the Bible, I think the film was a great portrayal of Noah. So often, we think of it as a cute little cartoon story, and never take time to consider the dark reality of it. Although the review is very harsh against Christianity, I think it is realistic and shows reveals the truth of the film.
