Plotz Free #1 Into the Wild
I finally had an opportunity to watch this film! And now I’m searching for the book :) there is no doubt Alex/Chris had an adventure filled lifestyle. As Alex, was was able to accomplish everything he desired to do. The realization he has at his death is like none other. As a film stand point, the constant switching from silence and music while the screen rapidly changed form his face to the sky made an impacting imagery of dying. Personally, I liked that rather than doing the classic “whole life pass by” the directors shot to Alex running into his parents arms in full embrace. The scene showed he had a found the meaning in his life that he had been searching for and then recognized his passion and love for his family, something he rebuked through the entire film. I think it showed that it was through his family that he was able to fully find who he was. The scene, was one that showed forgiveness and love at its full capacity, no longer did he hate his family or wish to ignore them, instead he runs into their embrace. His final thoughts “I’m running into your arms, would you see then, what I see now?” ring with strong passion and joy of the life he had.
