Philip Vivirito Reading Blog 4

A couple of weeks ago I read an article titled, “A Letter of Apology From Pastor Mark Driscoll. As you can probably guess the article is an apology by Mark Driscoll from what he did to get his book on the New Yorks best selling list. What he did was his church, Mars Hill, hired a company to promote his book. The problem was he spent a large sum of money to promote his book. Now at first glance it seems like he didn’t do anything wrong, but to me it seems unethical for him to use church funds to promote his book. I already have a negative opinion of Mark because what he preaches and how he preaches it. Him hiring a company to promote his book and then pay that company with church funds is just down right wrong. I read the entire letter, and I think it is so fake and not sincere. He said that he is not going to be the young prophet he once was, and that he was going to take a year off social media. That’s going to fix it right? I think what Mark Driscoll needs to do is get back to reaching people with sound biblically teachings.
